The American College of Radiology Data Science Institute (ACR DSI) has formed a collaboration with the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
Under the partnership, ACR DSI's AI-LAB platform will be expanded to include eye care. The AAO will contribute the ophthalmology content, while the ACR will provide the IT infrastructure to integrate the use cases and datasets into AI-LAB, according to the organizations. Developers can then build ophthalmology algorithms that include defined data elements and images useful for training and testing models.
The initiative will be led by the AAO's committee on artificial intelligence (AI), which is chaired by Dr. J. Pete Campbell.
