Computer processing technology developer Xilinx and healthcare artificial intelligence (AI) firm Spline.ai have introduced an open-source x-ray classification deep-learning algorithm and a reference design kit for developers.
Available on Amazon Web Services, the open-source model and design kit can be utilized by vendors and healthcare service providers to develop and deploy their own trained algorithms for clinical and radiological applications, according to the vendor. Models can be utilized in mobile or point-of-care edge devices, with the option of using the cloud to scale across remote networks and large geographies, the companies said.
The companies said that the technology has already been used by Spline.ai to develop an algorithm for detecting pneumonia and COVID-19.
