Digital x-ray firm Kubtec has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its Mozart with TomoSpec breast specimen radiography and tomosynthesis system.
The offering enables 3D margin assessment of excised breast tissue in one step without having to turn and reposition the specimen container, according to the vendor. A mobile system that can be placed in radiology, pathology, or surgery departments, Mozart with TomoSpec produces images that can be viewed in seconds, either on the system's own display or via wireless transfer to a PACS, Kubtec said.
The device is available now worldwide, Kubtec said.
