Shots fired at a mobile health screening event in Chicago that provided access to free mammograms and other services forced it to shut down early, according to a July 12 news story from WGN 9.
One gunshot hit Alpha Kappa Alpha's mobile mammogram van while one woman was undergoing a breast screening. No one was injured, but it forced the event to shut down earlier than the scheduled 5 p.m. end time.
Fortunately, approximately 30 mammograms and 50 COVID-19 vaccines were administered before the event was shut down, according to the story.
