The RSNA announced a slate of programming promoting healthcare diversity, equity, and inclusion at its upcoming annual meeting in Chicago from November 28 to December 2.
As the world's largest medical imaging forum, the RSNA conference presents a unique opportunity to shine a light on health care inequities, both in the U.S. and globally, and to provide insights, research, and education on how to improve diversity and inclusivity in medical practice, the RSNA said.
"The COVID-19 pandemic cast a spotlight on health inequities throughout the world and the critical importance of diversity and inclusion," stated RSNA president Dr. Mary C. Mahoney in a news release.
More than 50 scientific presentations, lectures, courses and exhibits on diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the five-day meeting. The RSNA's Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is sponsoring several courses, including the following:
- "Moving Beyond the Gender Binary: Exploring the Gender Spectrum and Diversity in Patient Care, Education, and Research"
- "Inclusion as a Key to Success of Diversity Efforts"
- "Trailblazers in Health Equity: Lessons Learned & Leadership Opportunities to Advance Health Equity in Radiology and Beyond"
In addition, research presentations will include the following titles:
