Canon Medical Systems USA is expanding its direct distribution network in the Midwestern U.S. by acquiring NXC Imaging of Minneapolis.
NXC is an employee-owned company that was founded in 1964 and that distributes and services capital medical equipment including MRI, CT, vascular interventional, ultrasound, x-ray, and C-arm systems. Canon and NXC have worked together for over 30 years.
Canon said the deal would broaden its outreach for sales and service in the upper Midwest region. Canon is planning to build a "substantial" sales and service organization in the area that will enable it to tailor its offerings to the needs of individual customers, according to the company.
