Image compression software developer Accusoft Pegasus has released new features for its AIMTools toolkit, a new mobile imaging software development kit (SDK).
The new features include support for viewing up to 16-bit lossless JPEG and JPEG 2000 images on iOS and Android devices, as well as support for viewing TIFF images on iOS.
Using the mobile SDK, medical professionals can retrieve and download medical images on an iPad, iPhone, or Android device. Applications developed using AIMTools are also designed to allow physicians to consult from patients' bedsides on mobile devices, the firm said.
