Augmented reality company Medivis is highlighting its $20 million series A funding round led by researchers, investors, and NBA superstar Kevin Durant.
Along with Durant, the funding round was led by Thrive Capital with participation from Initialized Capital and Mayo Clinic. Additional investors include Bob Iger; Robert Spetzler, MD; Hugo Barra; and Coalition Operators.
Medivis said money received from the fundraising round will be used to scale engineering, obtain regulatory clearances, and commercialize its offerings across multiple specialties. These include neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology, and reconstructive surgery.
