Medical image-sharing technology developer Life Image has formed a strategic partnership with Baystate Health, an integrated nonprofit health system based in Springfield, MA.
Under the terms of the partnership, Life Image and Baystate Health will collaborate on developing artificial intelligence (AI) tools for radiology, neurology, and oncology, according to the company. Baystate's innovation arm, TechSpring, will work with LifeImage to evaluate a range of AI applications, including algorithms aimed at improving speed and accuracy in diagnosing blood clots in stroke patients, as well as improving clinical pathways for physicians treating or diagnosing a patient by finding and comparing clinical criteria against a group of deidentified patients with similar clinical characteristics.
In addition, Life Image and TechSpring will team up to identify potential patient matches for oncology clinical trials, according to the vendor. A 10-year customer of Life Image, Baystate Health was one of the company's first clients.
