The RSNA and American College of Radiology (ACR) released a data dictionary on February 17 to facilitate enrollment into their joint medical 3D printing registry.

The societies' 3D printing registry includes anonymized data on clinical cases involving medical 3D printing. Their new dictionary describes all the data fields required to submit a case to the 3D printing registry, including information on the type of patient case examined, 3D printer used, procedure involved, and final outcomes, among others.

The data dictionary also contains a comprehensive list of terms on relevant anatomy, diagnoses, 3D modeling software, ordering services, procedure types, and 3D printers and materials.

As the 3D printing registry continues to evolve, the societies said they will update the data dictionary to match any changes.
