Volpara Health said it has made key changes to its leadership team to support its next phase of growth and innovation, with founder Ralph Highnam, PhD, moving out of his role as CEO.
After 13 years at the helm of Volpara, Highnam will transition to chief science and innovation officer. Healthcare industry executive Teri Thomas will take over as the new CEO, the company said.
Thomas is an American who is based in New Zealand, Volpara said. Her previous experience ranges from strategy and operations to running global sales and marketing teams, including a 20-year career at electronic health record developer Epic. Thomas is also a registered nurse.
Volpara said Highnam will now focus on leveraging the company's large mammography datasets to develop the next wave of artificial intelligence (AI) products and strengthen Volpara's portfolio throughout its customer network.
