Hologic plans to acquire Gynesonics, developer of the Sonata system for diagnostic intrauterine imaging and transcervical treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids, for $350 million.
Sonata combines intrauterine ultrasound guidance with targeted radiofrequency ablation, Hologic said. The purchase is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals for Sonata, according to the firm.
