Vancouver, BC-based medical technology developer Clarius Mobile Health has received approval in Canada for its HD3 handheld ultrasound scanner.
Clarius HD3 is the third generation of the company's line of handheld ultrasound scanners, which wirelessly connect to clinicians' Apple and Android smart devices with an artificial intelligence-powered application. The Clarius HD3 is now 30% smaller, lighter, and more affordable, the company said. In addition, the company replaced complex knobs and buttons with artificial intelligence and touch-based controls.
Clarius HD3 scanners are now available and start at 3,965 Canadian dollars ($2,995 U.S.) with an annual membership of 785 Canadian dollars ($595 U.S.) that provides access to all advanced software as a service (SaaS), enhanced education options, and unlimited exam management in the Clarius Cloud, the company said.
"As a Vancouver-based company, it's especially gratifying to enable more Canadian clinicians to use our affordable and intuitive ultrasound scanners to make an accurate diagnosis, confidently treat patients, and safely guide procedures," said Clarius President Ohad Arazi, in a news release.
