Philips Healthcare has begun to sell its Lumify handheld ultrasound scanner in Japan.
The company noted that it received clearance from Japanese regulatory authorities to begin selling Lumify for use with compatible handheld devices in the country. Philips is selling the scanner under a subscription model.
Philips' offering includes Reacts, a feature that adds a teleultrasound capability to give Lumify users remote access to collaborate and exchange expert opinions during diagnosis.
