Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has signed a multiyear research agreement with the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia to develop and validate its ConformalFlash radiotherapy.
ConformalFlash is a radiotherapy method that combines IBA's work-in-progress version of Flash irradiation with Bragg Peak properties of protons, according to the vendor. The collaboration was announced October 24 at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in Chicago.
