Radiation therapy equipment developer RefleXion Medical has raised another $40 million in financing, a boost for the advancement of the company's biology-guided radiotherapy for cancer.

The company's RefleXion X1 system is designed to treat all visible tumors, whereas radiotherapy is more typically limited to treatment of one or two tumors, RefleXion noted in a statement about the financing.

The latest financing comes from the Ally Bridge Group, which has headquarters in New York City and Hong Kong, and brings RefleXion's total gain from a series D funding to a total of $150 million. RefleXion is ramping up in the U.S. and is in the process of developing its market entry strategy for Asia.
