Philips expands radiation oncology line at ASTRO 2016

Philips Healthcare has introduced several new integrated imaging and treatment planning offerings at this week's American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in Boston.

The company is highlighting version 4.2 of its CT Big Bore simulation system with Tumor LOC and iPatient platform. Driven by Philips' Pinnacle3 treatment planning software, TumorLOC is designed to make it easier and faster to perform patient marking and CT simulation at the scanner console, according to the vendor. The company's iPatient platform provides patient-centered workflows for both routine and advanced 4D imaging applications, Philips said.

Philips has also launched Ingenia MR-RT, an MR simulation platform that aims to assist treatment planning by providing clinicians with MR images acquired in the treatment position. In addition, Philips said it is presenting developments in intelligent workflow automation, such as automated contouring on MR-only datasets.

Finally, Philips is showing a new user interface for Pinnacle3.
