The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) will launch a radiopharmaceutical therapy program.
The new SNMMI-IAC Radiopharmaceutical Therapy accreditation program will provide facilities with a mechanism for demonstrating their commitment to quality and patient safety in radiopharmaceutical therapy and augments the existing IAC accreditation areas of Nuclear Cardiology, General Nuclear Medicine, and PET, the SNMMI said.
Ultimately, accreditation will help assure that sites delivering radiopharmaceutical therapy are qualified and experienced, have appropriate facilities and equipment, and can offer safe and reliable radiopharmaceutical therapy, the SNMMI said.
Facilities interested in receiving information about the new program are encouraged to visit intersocietal.org/programs/nuclear-pet to complete an interest form for the Radiopharmaceutical Therapy program, the SNMMI added.
