Aspect Imaging unveils new offerings at WMIC 2016

Compact MRI technology developer Aspect Imaging will introduce several new systems at this week's World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC) in New York City, including an integrated PET/MRI scanner and a fusion technique for optical imaging and MRI.

Based on the vendor's M7 compact MRI scanner, the PET/MRI scanner can perform simultaneous PET/MRI for preclinical research applications, according to Aspect Imaging.

The firm is also showcasing a new optical imaging and MRI fusion method based on a proprietary animal transport system. It's designed to enable the bioluminescence optical research community to fuse optical data with MRI and is compatible with Aspect Imaging's M3 and M7 compact MRI systems, as well as with PerkinElmer's IVIS Spectrum CT scanner, the company said.
