The commander of the Fen2 space mission has posted on social media what may be the first x-ray image taken in space.
In an April 1 post on the social media platform X, Chun Wu wrote that on the second morning of the flight, the crew woke up, had breakfast, and “took a few x-ray images.”

The post has received over 14.9 million views at the time of writing. The image appears to be a nod to the first x-ray ever taken by Wilhelm Roentgen of his wife Anna Bertha Ludwig's hand on December 22, 1895.

The Fen2 mission launched on March 31 and is expected to be in orbit for at least another day. The crew is conducting more than 20 science experiments, including taking images of each other with an ultraportable x-ray machine.
