Canon U.S.A. will preview its new CXDI-80C wireless digital radiography (DR) detector and its CXDI-501 DR panel at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) annual meeting next week in Grapevine, TX.
CXDI-80C features a lightweight body design (5.5 lb) with an imaging area of 11 x 14 inches, which is equivalent to a conventional 10 x 12-inch imaging cassette. It also includes a 6.1-megapixel image sensor and a cesium iodide (CsI) scintillator for enhanced images in low x-ray exposure.
The CXDI-80C has not yet received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Canon also plans to show its CXDI-501 DR detectors, which feature new, detachable cables and compatible cassettes. The Canon CXDI-501C and CXDI-501G DR systems have 14 x 17-inch imaging areas and each unit weighs less than 7 lb.
The CXDI-501 DR detectors are also pending FDA clearance.
